Cherie P. Erkmen, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery and the Center for Asian Health at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University. She serves as Director of the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program and the Lung Cancer Screening Program at Temple University Hospital, highlighting her leadership in both clinical and academic domains.

Dr. Erkmen earned her MD from UCLA School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency and fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery and surgical research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
