Chenchen Huang is a Lecturer in Finance at the School of Management, University of Bath, where she joined in 2022. Previously, she was a Lecturer in Finance at Southampton Business School, University of Southampton. Her academic appointments include membership in the Centre for Governance, Regulation and Industrial Strategy at the University of Bath.

Chenchen's research focuses on empirical corporate finance, examining critical aspects of corporate behavior in global markets. Her work explores how firms engage in mergers and acquisitions, form strategic alliances and joint ventures, and navigate corporate governance challenges. She investigates the relationship between corporate social responsibility practices and cross-border business activities, particularly examining how state-owned enterprises approach international expansion. Her research on shareholder litigation risk provides insights into how legal environments shape corporate growth strategies. These investigations contribute significantly to understanding the complex interplay between financial decision-making and global business operations.
Her research findings have been published in high-impact journals including the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and the British Journal of Management, with work featured in Duke University School of Law's The FinReg Blog. She has presented at premier conferences such as the Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, European Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, Southwestern Finance Association Annual Meeting, and World Finance Conference.

As a Principal Investigator, Chenchen secured research funding from The British Academy for her work. She serves as Unit Convenor for several finance courses including MN52092 Financial Management in Global Markets, MN50321 International Finance, and MN50588 Quantitative Methods for Management, Accounting & Finance (as Co-Convenor). Her research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to responsible business practices and sustainable economic growth. She is actively involved in the GW4 Sustainable Finance Network project (2024-2025) as a Co-Investigator, collaborating with researchers across multiple institutions to advance sustainable finance research and policy development.
