Dr. Chen Ji is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Nonprofit Administration and Research (INAR) within the College of Arts & Sciences at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS), joining in 2023. She holds a PhD in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University (2023), along with an MA and BA in Sociology from Peking University.

Dr. Ji's research focuses on nonprofit financial sustainability, social entrepreneurship, program evaluation, and organizational theory, particularly examining strategic paradoxes in hybrid organizations with blurring sector boundaries. Her work provides actionable insights for nonprofit resource development and communication strategies, covering areas like signaling theory, impact investing, and stakeholder perceptions of hybrid identities.
Her recent publications address resource acquisition in social enterprises, innovative philanthropy during crises, and historical trends in nonprofit mission sustainability. Dr. Ji has received the Emerging Scholar Award from ARNOVA and has published in VOLUNTAS and Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership.
