Abdul Samad

Abdul Samad is an Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Nonprofit Administration & Research (INAR) within the College of Arts & Sciences at Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSUS). Concurrently, he serves as the Assistant Director of MPI at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. His work focuses on professional development training for nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, and institutions globally.

Samad’s research explores intersections of philanthropy, community collaboration, nonprofit management, and civic engagement of marginalized communities. His publications highlight challenges in nonprofit collaborations, equity in public sector workplaces, and strategies for Muslim-led organizations. Recent studies analyze third-party facilitation in partnerships and photovoice projects with HIV survivors.

Samad has authored works published in journals such as Voluntary Sector Review, Journal of Public Affairs Education, and Arts & Health, as well as books by Routledge and Indiana University Press. He teaches NPA 734 Nonprofit Governance and Decision Making and offers virtual office hours for student engagement.

His professional collaborations with philanthropic foundations, nonprofits, and government agencies bridge academic research and practical implementation. He is affiliated with INAR at LSUS and MPI at Indiana University, emphasizing community-driven solutions and inclusive leadership practices.
