Chelsea Martinez is the Director of Instructional Excellence at the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s School of Human Ecology. She holds a PhD and MS in Educational Psychology (Learning Sciences) from UW–Madison and a BS in Human Development from the University of California, Davis. With over 11 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and student learning assessment, her work emphasizes the science of teaching and learning. Previously, she served as a faculty member and leader at a community college, teaching psychology and education courses and holding roles such as president of the faculty collective bargaining unit. She has also been a volunteer peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission since 2017.
