Charlton Quitoriano is a Lecturer in the Department of Paramedicine at Monash University, appointed in February 2024. Previously, he served as a Teaching Focused Academic at Victoria University (2023–2024) and has been an Ahpra Registered Ambulance Paramedic with Ambulance Victoria since 2017. He holds dual qualifications in Paramedic Practice (University of Tasmania, 2016) and Visual Communication (Monash University, 2008), complemented by certificates in Positive Psychology (2023) and Mental Health (2021).
His research focuses on paramedic well-being, mental health, chronobiology, occupational safety, and accessible design. Current projects include Project ASAP (assessing shift work impacts on paramedics), the Paramedic Professional Capabilities Assessment Tool, and an Autism Suicide Prevention Resource Hub in collaboration with the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre. Charlton emphasizes inclusivity, identifying as a neurodiverse, queer, person of colour and actively seeks collaborations with similarly identified individuals.
His work integrates graphic design expertise into academic projects, enhancing visual branding and form design. Charlton’s interdisciplinary approach bridges paramedicine, education, and accessible design, addressing critical issues in healthcare practitioner well-being and equitable healthcare delivery.
