Charlotte Vermehren serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, with an additional appointment as Guest Researcher in the Department of Pharmacy focusing on Social and Clinical Pharmacy. Her research spans clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, and medication safety with particular emphasis on deprescribing practices and pharmacist-led interventions in primary care settings.
Her research interests center on medication review processes, deprescribing protocols for elderly patients, pharmacist-GP collaborations in general practice, and pharmacogenetic applications in Scandinavian healthcare. Dr. Vermehren employs mixed-methods approaches to develop and evaluate complex interventions that improve medication safety, particularly for vulnerable populations including those with dementia and psychiatric conditions.
