Charlotte Thurston is a Teaching & Learning Fellow at the TLC (Teaching & Learning Center) within the Macaulay Honors College at the City University of New York (CUNY). She is also a PhD candidate in English at the CUNY Graduate Center, focusing her dissertation on prison scenes in early modern English drama. Her roles include teaching writing and literature courses at CUNY and NJCU, serving as a Writing Across the Curriculum Fellow at John Jay and York College, and participating in leadership roles with the Doctoral Students’ Council, the graduate student government of the Graduate Center. Additionally, she works as a writing consultant for social work graduate students at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work.
Research Interests: Charlotte’s work explores intersections of early modern drama, penal culture, and theatrical representation, with a focus on how prison narratives reflect societal anxieties and power dynamics. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges literary analysis and historical context.
