Charlotte Hadley is a Research Fellow in the Department of Marketing at Lancaster University Management School, UK, actively serving as a Research Associate on the NERC funded Plastic Packaging in People’s Lives project. Her work bridges academic research with real-world sustainability challenges through interpretive qualitative methodologies.
Her research critically examines the tensions between everyday consumption practices and environmental/politicized issues, specializing in plastic packaging systems and food production-consumption behaviors. Employing ethnographic approaches, she investigates the consumer attitude-behaviour gap in waste management and explores stakeholder perspectives across packaging supply chains.
Recent publications analyze plastic packaging paradoxes and consumer responsibility frameworks, contributing to sustainable consumption discourse through interdisciplinary lenses combining marketing, environmental science, and social policy.
