Dr. Charlotte Goodburn is a Reader in Chinese Politics and Development at King's College London, serving as Deputy Director of the Lau China Institute and part of the Department of International Development. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and has conducted extensive fieldwork in China, Taiwan, and India. Her research focuses on rural-urban migration, comparative development in Asia (especially China and India), gender dynamics, and policy transfer. She teaches courses on Chinese politics and globalization, supervising PhD students on topics including SEZs, labor regimes, and urbanization.
