معرفی
Charlotte Brierley is an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Haematology at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the cellular and genetic mechanisms of myeloid neoplasms, particularly acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and blast-phase myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). Combining clinical training with research, she aims to identify novel therapeutic targets to improve patient outcomes.
- Education: MA, BM BCh (University of Cambridge), DPhil (University of Oxford)
- Prior Appointments: Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow, NIHR Academic Foundation post (Edinburgh)
Her work utilizes single-cell multi-omics (genomic, proteomic, transcriptomic) to dissect disease initiation, progression, and therapy resistance. Recent studies highlight roles of chromothripsis, IDH mutations, and proinflammatory stem cell niches in myeloid malignancies.
Her publications span genomics, cancer biology, and haematology, with a focus on translational research. Key themes include clonal evolution, microenvironmental interactions, and targetable pathways like DYRK1A overexpression and galectin-1.
- Scientific Awards: Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellowship, NIHR Academic Foundation post, Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath)
