Charlotta Siren is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Responsible Innovation (IRI-HSG) at the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, psychological aspects of entrepreneurial decision-making, new venture teams, informal entrepreneurship, and responsible innovation. She has extensive international academic experience, including positions at the University of Queensland (Australia), Aalto University (Finland), Luleå University of Technology (Sweden), and ETH Zurich (Switzerland).

Her research bridges empirical and behavioral entrepreneurship with remote sensing technologies, as evidenced by SNSF-funded projects on informal entrepreneurship in Indian slums and pandemic impact analysis. She also explores cognitive biases in medical decision-making and leadership dynamics in entrepreneurial ecosystems through EU Horizon 2020 collaborations.
Current projects include principal investigator roles for Swiss National Science Foundation grants (2022-2025 and 2020-2022), University of St.Gallen-funded initiatives on venture team emotions (2016-2017), and ETH Zurich collaborations on team learning (2017-2020).
