Charley Budgeon is a Senior Lecturer and Biostatistician at the School of Population and Global Health, University of Western Australia (UWA). He holds an honorary position at the University of Leicester's Cardiovascular Sciences Department. With a PhD in Alzheimer’s disease modeling and over 10 years of statistical experience, his research focuses on biostatistics applied to cardiovascular studies, including clinical trials and epidemiological research. He leads the LoDoCo2 trial, investigating colchicine's role in coronary heart disease prevention, and contributes to the Flagship Telomere project analyzing UK Biobank data. Budgeon has co-authored over 50 publications, including high-impact articles in New England Journal of Medicine and Nature Genetics. His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate biostatistics, and he co-supervises four PhD students. He has secured grants totaling over $3.4 million, including funding from NHMRC and the Heart Foundation.

Awards include the 2024 MRFF Early Career Researchers Grant nomination. Budgeon leads the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Research Centre (CERC) and contributes to policy through evidence-based analyses.
