معرفی
Dr. Robin Young is an Independent Biostatistician at the Robertson Centre for Biostatistics, University of Glasgow. His work focuses on statistical methodologies applied to cardiovascular disease, genetic epidemiology, and clinical trial design. He has contributed to major studies on coronary artery disease, hypertension, and mental health interventions. His research bridges biostatistics with translational medicine, addressing both clinical and public health challenges.
Grants & Projects:
- PROFOUND-Prostate (Movember Europe, 2025–2027): Analyzing prostate cancer patient behaviors in deprived/remote areas.
- UK Biobank Analysis (NIH, 2021–2025): Investigating blood lipid genetics and coronary heart disease biology.
- PHANTOM Trial (NIHR, 2020–2024): Testing phantom limb pain treatments via stimulation therapies.
Research Interests:
- Design of randomized controlled trials for cardiovascular and mental health interventions.
- Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for blood pressure and diabetes genetics.
- Application of biostatistics to telemedicine innovations and pandemic response strategies.
- Evaluation of drug efficacy in chronic conditions using longitudinal cohort analyses.
Collaborations:
Dr. Young collaborates with international teams on projects like the CLARIFY registry (coronary disease management) and the BRAVE study (Bangladesh vascular event epidemiology). His work emphasizes multidisciplinary approaches to improve clinical decision-making and public health policies.
