معرفی
Dr Charles Wright is a Research Fellow in the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology at Monash University, where he works in the research group of Dr Senthil Arumugam. His work bridges biophysics, quantitative biology, and advanced imaging techniques to explore how complex, robust behaviors emerge from stochastic processes in living systems.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Biophysical Sciences, University of Chicago (2015)
- M.S. in Biophysical Sciences, University of Chicago (2012)
- B.A. in Physics, Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Spanish, Vanderbilt University (2008)
His research interests center on understanding the principles of robustness and organization in biological systems across scales. He specializes in developing integrated experiment–analysis pipelines that combine light-sheet microscopy with AI-enabled image analysis to quantify dynamic processes such as intracellular trafficking and single-cell growth. His approach is highly interdisciplinary, drawing from physics, biology, and computational modeling.
The most recent articles (2023–2025) highlight a strong trend in studying stochasticity in cellular dynamics, including intergenerational homeostasis, intracellular transport, and even behavioral adaptation in unicellular organisms. These works appear in high-impact journals such as Annual Review of Condensed Matter Physics, Physical Review E, and Current Biology, indicating broad recognition across biophysics, cell biology, and systems biology communities.
Dr Wright has held postdoctoral positions at Purdue University under A/Prof Srividya Iyer-Biswas, focusing on single-cell growth dynamics. His collaborations span institutions and disciplines, particularly with experts in biophysical modeling and experimental microbiology.
