Charles Whitten

Charles Whitten is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He holds the Margaret Milam McDermott Distinguished Chair and previously served as Interim Chair and Vice Chairman of Educational Affairs. Dr. Whitten's administrative roles include Director of the Division of Cardiovascular/Thoracic Anesthesiology and Director of Parkland Health and Hospital Systems' Surgical Services. He is an examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology and has held tenure since 2005.

Professional Contributions: Appointed Residency Program Director (2006) and has led major divisions at Parkland Hospital. His awards reflect sustained excellence in both clinical and academic leadership.
