Charles Larkin is Director of Research and Senior Lecturer at the University of Bath’s Institute for Policy Research (IPR), with affiliations to the Bath Institute for the Augmented Human and Made Smarter Innovation: Centre for People-Led Digitalisation. He holds adjunct roles at Johns Hopkins University, Trinity College Dublin, and other institutions. Larkin earned a PhD (2008) and BA in Economics (2002) from Trinity College Dublin.
Research Focus: His work spans IMF bailouts, economic history, political economy of the Eurozone, and Ireland’s economic trajectory. Recent studies address cryptocurrency markets, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and policy responses to pandemics.
