Charles Lacy, PharmD, is Vice President of Executive Affairs and a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Roseman University of Health Sciences. With 42 years of clinical pharmacy and teaching experience, he specializes in psychiatric and neurologic pharmacy, pharmacogenomics, and complementary medicine. Dr. Lacy co-founded Roseman University in 1999 and has developed academic programs, policies, and clinical centers including the Drug Information & Poison Control center at Cedars-Sinai.
- Education: Addiction and Relationships at Phillips Graduate Institute (2007–2008); Practical Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology at University of Southern California (1977–1981); Neurophysiology and Biochemistry at University of California, Irvine (1975–1977); Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology at UCLA (1973–1975).
His research focuses on pharmacogenomics, pharmacokinetics of medicinal compounds, combined treatment modalities for anxiety/mood disorders, addiction treatment, and receptor dynamics for clinical therapies. Dr. Lacy has led national Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committees and task forces in pharmacoeconomics and medication therapy management.
- Scientific Awards: Fellow of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FCSHP); Fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FASHP).
As a prolific author, he leads the Drug Information Handbook and edits the Lexi-Comp Clinical Reference Library. Dr. Lacy also teaches in business and nursing programs and contributes to university promotion, alumni engagement, and philanthropy.
