Nancy Nguyen

Nancy Nguyen is a Clinical Professor and Regional Coordinator for the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) program at the University of the Pacific, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy, where she has been a faculty member since 2004. She is based in Palo Alto and plays a key role in coordinating pharmacy students' experiential education across the Bay Area.

Dr. Nguyen's research and clinical interests center on HIV and aging, with a focus on medication adherence, drug interactions involving antiretrovirals, and antimicrobial stewardship. She is passionate about fostering clinical curiosity in students and promoting evidence-based practice in pharmacy education.

Her recent scholarly work reflects a strong emphasis on HIV pharmacotherapy, geriatric pharmacy, and clinical decision-making. Themes across her publications include optimizing treatment in aging HIV populations, managing polypharmacy, and evaluating novel therapeutics in chronic conditions.

Dr. Nguyen has held leadership roles in the Golden Gate Chapter of CSHP, serving as Secretary (2010), President-Elect (2011), President (2012), and Immediate Past President (2013). She is also a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She mentors students through her teaching in ambulatory care, capstone courses, and APPE rotations in infectious diseases and clinical research.

She has contributed to pharmacy education through book chapters in RxPrep, particularly on HIV pharmacotherapy, and continues to influence the next generation of pharmacists through her clinical teaching and leadership.
