Charles Kronengold is Associate Professor in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature. His research examines genre theory in popular music, audiovisual aesthetics, and ethical dimensions of cultural production. Authored Living Genres in Late Modernity: American Music of the Long 1970s and co-authored The James Bond Songs: Pop Anthems of Late Capitalism.
Current projects include Crediting Thinking in Soul and Dance Music and Unredeeming Music. Holds PhD in Music Composition from UC San Diego and previously taught at Stanford University.
