Charles Fairchild is an Associate Professor of Popular Music and Program Leader of the Bachelor of Arts (Music Major) at The University of Sydney. He holds a PhD in American Studies from SUNY Buffalo and has affiliations with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His research focuses on the cultural and material mediation of music, particularly examining how institutions shape music consumption and meaning. His work includes studies on music museums, community radio, and the intersections of music with film, television, and digital culture.
