Dr. Charles M. Boisvert is a Professor in the Department of Counseling, Educational Leadership, and School Psychology at Rhode Island College's Feinstein School of Education and Human Development. He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island (1999) and an MA in Agency Counseling from Rhode Island College (1991). His work bridges clinical practice and research, focusing on schizophrenia, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and science-practice integration.

Dr. Boisvert specializes in schizophrenia group treatment, cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety, and stress management. His research explores the effects of psychiatric labels on clinical perceptions, science-practice relations, and predictors of psychotherapy outcomes. He has developed Mind Stimulation Therapy (MST) to enhance cognitive functioning in severe mental health populations.
His recent publications emphasize visual therapy techniques, mind-body connections, and cognitive interventions. He has received the 2013-2014 FSEHD Bucci Family Award for scholarship and service. Dr. Boisvert serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for journals like Professional Psychology: Research and Practice and Schizophrenia Bulletin, and has presented extensively on evidence-based interventions and psychotherapy methods.
