Charlene Rose is a CENTRE-UB Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham's School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, affiliated with the Royal Geographical Society and Geographical Association. She holds a PhD in Human Geography (University of Birmingham, 2024), an MA in Applied Linguistics and Communication (Birkbeck College, University of London, 2019), and a BA in Sociology (Birmingham City University, 2015).
- Research Focus: Interdisciplinary studies on advertising practices in Caribbean restaurants targeting superdiverse communities, using Multimodal Discourse Analysis.
- Fellowship Projects: Developing teacher toolkits, CPD sessions, and a podcast with RGS/GA; collaborating with Kidney Care on Caribbean health initiatives.
- Key Areas: Food systems, migration dynamics, diaspora studies, and health equity.
Current collaborations include creating educational resources and engaging with community organizations to address health disparities in marginalized populations.
