- B.M., Music, Oberlin College Conservatory of Music
Her research focuses on advanced topics in music theory, including Sonata Theory, Rotational Form, and the works of Dmitri Shostakovich. She is particularly interested in feminist music theory, women in music, Schenkerian analysis, film music, and the analysis of post-tonal and popular music. Her scholarship bridges analytical rigor with cultural and gender studies perspectives.
Her publications explore thematic dramaturgy in Shostakovich’s symphonies and the film scores of Clint Eastwood. These works reflect a broader trend in her research: the intersection of formal musical structures with narrative and cultural meaning, especially in 20th-century and cinematic music.
