Sarah Marlowe is an Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. She holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (B.Mus. in piano performance, M.M. in music theory and accompanying) and Eastman (Ph.D. in music theory). Her research focuses on counterpoint, fugue analysis, Schenkerian approaches to Bach and Shostakovich, and DEI initiatives in music pedagogy. She has presented at major conferences and earned awards for teaching excellence.
