Chan Eng Soon

Professor Chan Eng Soon is a distinguished academic and administrator at the National University of Singapore (NUS) with over three decades of contributions to marine and offshore engineering. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine, Singapore, and Director of Research Administration at ODPRT, NUS, he has held pivotal roles including Dean of Engineering, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and Executive Director of the Centre for Offshore Research and Engineering.

Education:

• Doctor of Science (Hydrodynamics) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1986)
• Master of Engineering (Civil) from NUS (1982)
• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with First Class Honors from NUS (1980)

His research focuses on marine hydrodynamics, wave-structure interactions, and coastal protection systems. His recent publications demonstrate expertise in wave-current interactions, tidal prediction models, and oil spill dynamics, with applications to offshore engineering and environmental monitoring.
