Chamindi Malalgoda is a Senior Lecturer and Quantity Surveying Course Leader at the Department of Design and Architecture, School of Arts and Humanities, University of Huddersfield. She is a member of the Global Disaster Resilience Centre (GDRC). Her research focuses on disaster risk reduction, resilient built environments, and climate change adaptation. Dr. Malalgoda has led EU-funded projects like REGARD (2022) and CCA-DRR (2023), emphasizing disaster resilience and management.
Education:
- PhD in Disaster Resilience and Urban Development (University of Salford, 2014)
- BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying (First-Class Honours)
Research Interests: Disaster resilience education, urban resilience, sustainable construction, and empowerment of local governments. She explores transdisciplinary approaches to climate adaptation and inclusive disaster education through digital pedagogy.
