Chad Settle is a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences, The University of Tulsa. His research spans environmental and natural resource economics, ecological modeling, and game theory, with a growing emphasis on behavioral and institutional aspects of economic decision-making.
Research Interests: Dr. Settle's work centers on integrating biological and economic models for managing invasive species, with later expansion into long-term environmental planning, mitigation, adaptation, and hyperbolic discounting. He has increasingly focused on game theoretic applications, including reputations in repeated games, bargaining outcomes, asymmetric information in regulation, and citizen enforcement mechanisms. His recent work examines how reimbursement rules and contracting influence efficiency and equity in environmental disputes.
