Chad Murchison

Chad Murchison is an Assistant Professor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), holding dual appointments in the School of Medicine (Neurology Department) and the School of Public Health (Biostatistics Department). He earned a PhD in Biostatistics from UAB in 2021, an MS from an unspecified institution in 2010, and a Bachelor's degree in 2003.

His research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, leveraging biostatistics, bioinformatics, and operations research. He investigates biomarkers (e.g., retinal, blood-based, microbiome), racial disparities in disease progression, and therapeutic interventions like omega-3 fatty acids and gene therapy.
