Chad Creighton

Chad Creighton is a Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, serving as Co-Director of Cancer Bioinformatics at the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center and as an Affiliated Faculty Member at the Human Genome Sequencing Center. His research focuses on bioinformatics analysis of molecular profiling data to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment through integration of diverse data types including mRNA expression, microRNA expression, protein expression, DNA methylation, and DNA copy number.

Dr. Creighton earned his PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Michigan in 2006 and completed his undergraduate studies in Physics at the University of Idaho in 1996. This interdisciplinary background provides a strong foundation for his work at the intersection of computational biology and cancer research.

His primary research interests include understanding the molecular basis of cancer through genomics and proteomics, integrative analysis of diverse molecular data types, mining public genomic databases, and studying noncoding somatic DNA alterations. Dr. Creighton's work seeks to extract meaningful information from large-scale molecular datasets to address clinically relevant questions in oncology.
