Chad Catron is an Instructor in the American Sign Language (ASL) Program at the University of Oregon's College of Education, affiliated with the Communication Disorders and Sciences and Disability Studies departments. He holds a Master of Arts in Sign Language Education from Gallaudet University (2017) and a Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Education from California State University, Fresno (2014). Prior to joining the University of Oregon, he served as an Adjunct Instructor at Fresno City College.
His professional focus centers on teaching ASL and promoting Deaf Culture. Catron is deeply connected to the Deaf community, having been born deaf into a deaf family with ASL as his native language. Beyond academia, he enjoys golfing and is an avid fan of James Bond.
