Ceri Amphlett is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Creative & Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth, affiliated with the School of Architecture, Art and Design. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching (Higher Education) from Solent University (2012), MA Communication Art & Design from the Royal College of Art (2002), and a BA Hons Illustration from Kingston University (1999). Her work focuses on drawing, color theory, and interdisciplinary visual practices, often incorporating risograph printing and collaborative projects.
Research interests include visual arts, print media, and creative pedagogy, with a particular emphasis on community-engaged art. Her recent exhibitions and artefacts explore narrative-driven projects like 'The Darktown Seaside Beano' and 'Voices from the Back of Beyond,' blending poetry, photography, and illustration. She currently leads the project 'Making sense of it all,' investigating creative processes in drawing and interdisciplinary art.
Amphlett serves as an External Examiner at the University of Brighton (2020–2024). Her professional activities include organizing workshops like 'Hot Dogs & Trouser Books' (2019) and participatory events such as the Fforest Gather festival (2023). Her creative outputs prioritize accessibility and communal storytelling through printed mediums.
