Celine Nadon is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Manitoba and serves as the Director of the Division of Enteric Diseases at Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory. Her work bridges academic research and public health practice, focusing on enteric pathogens and their control.
- Education: BSc (1996), MSc (1998) from University of Manitoba; PhD (2003) from Cornell University.
Dr. Nadon specializes in genomic epidemiology, computational biology, and metagenomics, with a focus on enteric bacterial pathogens like E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria. She contributes to global public health through national/international surveillance systems and science policy translation.
Her roles include mentoring graduate students, lecturing internationally, and serving as an expert for the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). She was co-chair of PulseNet International from 2018 to 2024, a network for foodborne disease surveillance.
