Celine Aardal Lönnerfors

Celine Aardal Lönnerfors is a Consultant Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Lund University, affiliated with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She actively participates in research projects focused on endometrial and cervical cancer. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to reproductive health and cancer research.

Her primary research interests include the application of sentinel node algorithms in cancer staging, robotic-assisted surgery for gynaecological cancers, and optimizing surgical techniques for improved patient outcomes. She has co-authored 26 research outputs, including peer-reviewed articles and reviews on topics such as pelvic lymph node metastasis detection and enhanced recovery programs post-surgery.

Recent studies emphasize her focus on hybrid sentinel node algorithms combining indocyanine green mapping and anatomical sampling methods, as well as the clinical benefits of robotic surgery. She has supervised doctoral student L. Ekdahl in projects on robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery for cervical cancer.

Lönnerfors collaborates internationally and has contributed to advancements in oncological surgery protocols, particularly in minimally invasive approaches.
