Ane Gerda Zahl Eriksson is an Associate Professor and senior consultant in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology at the Norwegian Radium Hospital, University of Oslo. She specializes in advanced minimally invasive surgery for gynaecologic cancers and radical procedures for advanced ovarian cancer, with a focus on surgical education. Dr. Eriksson holds a Medical Degree from the Medical University of Warsaw and completed her residency at Oslo University Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Gynaecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2015.
Her research interests include sentinel lymph node biopsy implementation, molecular markers in endometrial cancer, and fertility preservation strategies. She is the founder and chair of the Advanced Course in Cytoreductive Surgery for Ovarian Cancer and a member of the ESGO Council. Dr. Eriksson has led clinical trials through the Nordic Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (NSGO), including the SENTICOL III trial, and has secured funding from the Sister Institution Fund in collaboration with MD Anderson. She mentors students and editorial fellows, and currently serves in the ESGO Gender Equity Program.
Key professional roles include leadership in the NSGO Clinical Trials Unit, editorial work with the International Journal of Gynaecologic Cancer, and active membership in national/international societies. Her recent work focuses on cost-effectiveness analyses of lymph node biopsy techniques and outcomes of fertility preservation in cervical cancer patients.
