Cecilia Andersson is a Senior Lecturer and Research Team Manager at the Department of Experimental Medical Science, Lund University. She serves as Assistant Head of Department for Health, Safety, and Environment (HMS) and teaches at the Medical Programme. Her research focuses on mast cell interactions with structural cells in chronic respiratory diseases like asthma and COPD.
Research Interests:
- Translational studies of mast cell crosstalk with epithelial and smooth muscle cells
- Mechanisms driving chronic airway diseases
- Anti-viral and bacterial defense in respiratory epithelium
- Personalized therapies for asthma and COPD
Recent Trends: Her recent publications emphasize mast cell proteases in airway remodeling, DNA repair pathways in lung fibrosis, and allergen-induced inflammation models.
