معرفی
Anders Lindén is a Professor of Lung and Airway Research at Karolinska Institutet's Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM), leading the research group focused on pulmonary host defense and chronic airflow obstruction. His work examines immune deficiencies in smokers with/without COPD, severe asthma, and comorbidities like chronic bronchitis. His research integrates immunology, respiratory medicine, and biomarker discovery.
Key affiliations include the Unit of Lung and Airway Research at IMM. Lindén’s studies emphasize cytokines (e.g., IL-26) in airway inflammation, COPD exacerbations, and translational research linking inflammation to clinical outcomes. He leads the Stockholm COPD Inflammation Cohort (SCOPIC), a primary care-based biomarker initiative.
His publications (15 most recent shown) span IL-26’s role in COPD, asthma, and SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis; systemic biomarkers of lung disease; and comorbidity impacts on COPD mortality. Lindén collaborates internationally on projects like the EMBARC bronchiectasis registry and studies of airway microbiology in preterm survivors.
Research themes include: (1) IL-26-driven inflammation in chronic airway diseases, (2) immune dysregulation in smokers, (3) biomarkers for early COPD diagnosis, and (4) long-term outcomes of bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
