Alvar Agusti

Alvar Agusti is a Full Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, Spain, since 2020. His career spans leadership roles including Chair of the Board of Directors at the Global Initiative for Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and former Director of the Respiratory Institute at Hospital Clinic, Barcelona (2009–2021). He pioneered the National Spanish Network of Excellence in Respiratory Research (CIBERES) from 2003 to 2011.
