Catriona Cooper

Catriona Cooper serves as a Senior Lecturer in Digital Humanities at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Humanities and Educational Studies, joining the institution in April 2022. Her multifaceted role encompasses teaching Digital Humanities and Heritage Studies across interdisciplinary modules including Archaeology, English Literature, History, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, and Theology, while actively supporting research through digital methodologies and leading institutional digital strategy development.

Her research critically examines multisensory and digital frameworks for analyzing historical contexts, cultural heritage, and architectural spaces, emphasizing immersive technological applications that transform traditional humanities scholarship through experiential engagement with the past.

As Academic Lead for Digital Strategy and a Research Supervisor, Dr Cooper pioneers the integration of digital infrastructure across academic programs while mentoring postgraduate researchers in innovative heritage documentation and sensory analysis methodologies, positioning her at the forefront of digital transformation in humanities education.
