Catrin Johansson is a Professor of Organizational Communication at Mid Sweden University, where she also serves as Research Director of DEMICOM (Centre for Community and Regional Communication). She is affiliated with the Department of Communication, Quality Technology and Information Systems (KKI).

Research Interests: Her work focuses on organizational communication with special emphasis on communicative leadership, communication in change processes, communication for sustainable development, and leadership and communication in crises. She explores communication paradoxes during organizational change and leads projects like Rumors on the agenda – Managing public concern through crisis communication and Communicating Climate Change.
Recent Article Trends: Her publications address communication maturity (2016-2019), crisis communication (2015-2024), and strategic leadership (2017-2024). Key subfields include climate change communication, discursive institutionalism, public resilience, and health-related communication.
Labs/Teams: She works with DEMICOM research center and leads projects like Kommunikation för Klimatneutrala Örnsköldsvik 2030 and Samverkan och samordning av kriskommunikation vid coronakrisen 2020 (SACK20).
