Cati Bestard Rotger is a Lecturer in Art at Smith College, where she has taught since 2024. She holds an MFA from Columbia University (2018) and works primarily with photographic images, exploring untold narratives and nonviable materialities. Her artistic practice intersects with curatorial work through collaborations with Dilalica, a Barcelona-based exhibition space.

Research Interests
The core of her work revolves around experimental photography, materiality, and narrative construction. She explores how photographic media can challenge traditional storytelling and document ephemeral or unconventional subjects. Her practice also incorporates curatorial methodologies to engage with exhibition spaces and collaborative projects.
Affiliations & Activities
She has participated in artist residencies at Andrea Zittel's Institute of Investigative Living, Hercules Art Studio Program, and Penumbra Foundation. In 2023, she published the photobook Ca s'abuela, which examines familial and cultural narratives through material experimentation.
Exhibitions
Her work has been exhibited at Ulterior Gallery (New York), La Capella (Barcelona), Museu Palau Soterra (Girona), and Untitled (Miami), among others. She maintains an active presence through her personal website and social media platforms.
