معرفی
Dr. Cathy E Richards is a Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) School of Dentistry, with a research focus on translational oncology and the development of advanced 3D in vivo models for therapy response prediction. She played a pivotal role in establishing a dedicated Chick Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM) Xenograft laboratory at RCSI in 2023, where her current research explores tumor cell interactions in 3D co-culture systems.
- Education:
- PhD in Molecular Medicine (2015-2019), RCSI
- BSc (Hons) in Genetics (2009-2014), University College Dublin
- Postgraduate Diploma in Health Professions Education (2021-2022), RCSI
Her research spans difficult-to-treat cancers, with a particular emphasis on translational oncology, tumor microenvironment, and targeted therapies. Articles co-authored by Richards highlight innovations in CDK inhibition, PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway suppression, and the utility of novel xenograft models, indicating a consistent focus on molecular mechanisms and therapeutic strategies.
Dr. Richards received funding for the Student Selected Projects (SSP) 2024 grant, supporting her work in translational cancer research. She actively contributes to the CAM Xenograft laboratory, which serves as a platform for investigating tumor biology and therapy optimization.
