Cathrine Pedersen is a Senior Researcher and Deputy Head of Research at the Nordic Institute for Studies of Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU), where she has worked since 2019. Her expertise spans interventions and quantitative research methods, motivation, coping and behavior change, and health-promoting performance targets for both mental and physical health.
Her educational background includes:
- PhD in Sports Science from the Norwegian School of Sports (2014-2018)
- MSc in Psychology from NTNU (1997-1999)
- Bachelor's degree in French, Psychology and Ethics from the University of Oslo (1990-1994)
Pedersen's research integrates health promotion with educational policy, specializing in quantitative methodologies to evaluate interventions in school settings. She has extensive experience studying motivation, behavioral change, and the relationship between physical activity and mental health outcomes. Her work often examines how educational frameworks impact student well-being and academic performance, with particular attention to policy implementation and evaluation.
