Cathleen Morey serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Smith College School for Social Work and Director of Clinical Social Work at Austen Riggs Center. She manages clinical services within an open psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center for adults with complex conditions. With 25 years of clinical experience across multiple settings, her expertise includes forensic environments and community mental health.
Her scholarship focuses on system enactments, psychodynamic approaches, trauma transmission, and clinical ethics. She teaches in Smith's doctoral program and clinical supervision certificate programs while maintaining a private psychotherapy and consultation practice.
Morey volunteers internationally with International Social Work Solutions and serves as peer reviewer for Clinical Social Work Journal and Journal of Social Work Practice. Her professional contributions include presentations at national and international conferences on clinical social work topics.
