Catherine Serrano-Lugo is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University, affiliated with the College of Science. She teaches Organic Chemistry (CHEM 227 & 228) to ~300 students annually and supervises Organic Chemistry Laboratory courses, serving students from disciplines across the College of Science, College of Veterinary Medicine, and College of Engineering. She also contributes to CHEM 234, a writing-intensive lab course for chemistry majors.
Her research interests focus on organic chemistry and chemical education. She volunteers at the Chemistry Open House and serves as a judge for the Texas Junior Academy of Science.
Dr. Serrano-Lugo earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Utah in 2015. Her publications emphasize organic synthesis methodologies, including cascade reactions and nucleoside chemistry.
