Catherine Meriano

Catherine Meriano is a Professor of Occupational Therapy at Quinnipiac University since 2006. She has held multiple administrative roles, including Director of the MOT program (2013–2016), Department Chair (2013–2014), and Director of the MS/OTD program (2010–2014). Her academic career spans over two decades, with prior faculty appointments as Associate Professor (2001–2006) and Assistant Professor (1995–2001) at Quinnipiac University.

Her research interests focus on occupational therapy applications for individuals with low vision, health policy, medical ethics, and leadership in higher education. She has emphasized interdisciplinary approaches, particularly integrating social work (MSW) into occupational therapy for low vision clients.

Meriano is certified as a CARFIT technician (2024), holds a Certification in Patient Advocacy (2024), and a Certification in Online Education (2017). She is a Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L, 1986).

She has taught courses such as OT 653 Policy/Ethics, OT 655 Professional Seminar, and OT 671 Leadership in Higher Education. Her professional experience includes concurrent roles as an Occupational Therapist at Rehab Concepts (2006–Present) and prior positions at Branford Hills Health Center, Community Health Care VNA, and Hospital of St. Raphael.
