Dr. Catherine Kelly is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton's School of Business and Law, affiliated with the Centre for Environment and Society and the Centre for Arts and Wellbeing. She sits on the UK national Blue Space Forum for the Environment Agency and actively engages in public speaking and media collaborations (BBC, Guardian, etc.).
Education: BSc Natural Sciences (Trinity College Dublin, 1991), PhD Human Geography (Coventry University, 1994), BSc Stress Management (University of Greenwich, 2011).
Research focuses on sustainability, tourism, and wellbeing, with emphasis on blue spaces' role in physical/psychological health and coastal stewardship. Recent work explores the Blue Economy in tourism and environmental conservation advocacy. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive learning, real-world case studies, and student confidence-building.
