Catherine Jacqueson

Catherine Jacqueson is a Professor at the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Law, and a researcher at the Centre for Legal Studies in Welfare and Market (WELMA). She serves as co-editor of the European Journal of Social Security and represents Denmark in the EU network MoveS for free movement and social security.

Education:

• French law degree (DEA and DESE)
• PhD, Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen (2003)
• Post-doctoral Research Fellow, St John's College, University of Oxford (2003-2007)

Research Interests: Her work critically examines the convergence of social security systems, labor regulations, and EU legal frameworks. Key emphases include safeguarding individual rights across borders, comparative welfare state models (particularly Danish), EU citizenship jurisprudence, and the evolving social dimension of European integration through court rulings and policy.
