Dr. Catherine Houlihan is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and Director of the UniSC Psychology Clinic at the University of the Sunshine Coast's School of Health. She coordinates and teaches courses in the Master of Psychology (Clinical and Professional) programs and provides clinical and research supervision to master’s and PhD students. Her research focuses on eating disorders, body image, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with expertise in developing therapeutic models for mental health services. She co-founded Australia’s first residential eating disorder service, Wandi Nerida in QLD.
Education: DClinPsych from the University of Oxford and BSc (Hons) from Cardiff University.
Research Interests: Eating disorders, CBT, therapeutic formulations, and multidisciplinary team approaches. She investigates novel methods to enhance treatment outcomes and improve service design in mental health.
Teaching: Courses include PSY703 Practicum Placement 1, PSY713 Professional Skills 1, PSY706 Practicum Placement 2, and PSY716 Professional Skills 2.
Memberships: Registered Psychologist (Australia), Board-Approved Supervisor, ANZAED Member, and ANZAED Credentialed Clinician.
