Catherine Hobby is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London. She holds dual roles as Joint Director of the Centre for Mediation and Conflict Management and LLB Combined Degrees Course Leader. Her academic qualifications include an MSc in Industrial Relations (London School of Economics), LLM in Labour Law (University College London), and LLB (London).
Her research focuses on whistleblowing protections, workplace conflict resolution, employment law, and human rights within organizational contexts. Notable areas include analyzing legal frameworks for gig economy workers, case law developments in whistleblowing, and integrating human rights principles into HR strategies.
Teaching expertise spans Public Law, Equality & Human Rights, Advocacy, and Employment Law. She actively contributes to professional networks including the Mediators Community of Practice, Civil Mediation Council, and International Network of Mediation Clinics.
